PREPARATIONS :
1. FLAT PLATE ABDOMEN – No preparation ; anytime
2. KUB – preparation same as IVP and Ba. Enema
3. IVP , Ba.Enema and Cysto RGP
a. Light supper on the night before the examination
b. Take 1 bottle 60 cc of magnesium citrate at 4 pm and another 1
bottle 60cc at 9 pm
c. Cleansing enema in the morning before the examination
d. Withold breakfast
4. Upper-GI Series
a. Light supper on the night before the examination
b. Nothing by mouth after midnight
c. Withold breakfast
Note: Please add cleansing enema in the morning before the examination
if the patient has a barium enema procedure on the day prior to this examination
5. Small Intestinal Series (SIS) – preparation same as Barium Enema
6. T-Tube cholangiogram – NPO for 6-8 hours
7. Angiography
a. Normal Creatinine, CT,BT, Protime, APTT
b. NPO 4-6 hours
MAMMOGRAPHY SECTION
PROCEDURES :
Routine Mammography – no preparation needed Needle localization guided biopsy
PREPARATIONS :
Normal CT,BT,Protime No Pre-medication prior to procedure

PREPARATIONS :
1. Abdominal examination (Liver, Gallbladder, Pancreas, Spleen, and Abdominal Aorta)
d. Fat-free diet on the night before the examination
e. NPO at least 8 hours prior to examination
Note: If the patient has a history of cholecystectomy no need for fasting
2. Kidneys, Transvaginal/Transrectal, Breast, Cranial, Thyroid, Testicular, Biophysical
Profile, Lungs, Congenital Scanning
- No preparation is needed
3. Urinary bladder/ Pelvis – patient should have a full bladder
4. Prostate Biopsy
i. Take 2 tabs of dulcolax on the night before the Examination
ii. Insert 1 dulcolax suppository in the morning prior to Procedure
iii. Take 1 capsule of Ciprobay on the night before the examination
and 1 capsule in the morning prior to procedure
Then, 1 tab p.o. bid after procedure for 3 days
iv. NPO at least 4 hours prior to examination
Note: Normal CT, BT, Protime, PSA, Hemoglobin and Hematocrit
5. Ultrasound Guided Biopsy – Normal CT, Bt, Protime
- NPO 4-6 hours

3D RECONSTRUCTION
PREPARATIONS :
WHOLE ABDOMEN / LOWER ABDOMEN
ADULT: preparation same as barium enema
Infant : NPO 6 hours
Note: If it is with contrast, normal creatinine required
If it is plain, no creatinine and no fasting needed
1. Upper abdomen – 7 years old to adult NPO for 6 hours
Normal creatinine
Infant up to 7 years NPO 4 hours
2. Cranial with contrast – NPO for 4 hours, normal creatinine
3. Cranial plain – No preparation is needed
4. Chest – NPO 6 hours, normal creatinine
5. Extremities and spine – no preparation is needed, if with contrast same preparation
as head
6.CT Myelogram – NPO 4-6 hours, normal creatinine
7. Neck – preparation same as cranial
8. Orbits – preparation same as cranial
9. Nasopharynx – preparation same as cranial
10. Larynx – preparation same as head
11. Mastoid/Mandible –preparation same as head
12. Temporal bone – same as head
13. Paranasal Sinuses – no preparation is needed, if with contrast Preparation same
as head
14. CT Guided Biopsy – Normal CT, BT, Protime NPO 4 hours
OPERATING HOURS
• X-RAY SECTION is open for twenty four (24) hours six (7) days a week. But special
xray procedures are scheduled from Monday to Saturday 7 am to 4 pm.
• Mammography section is open Monday to Saturday 7 am to 4 pm.
• CT Scan and Ultrasound section are open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 5pm.
For emergency “STAT”, Sundays and Holidays our Consultants / Technologist are on
call when needed.
