The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Intermediate Care
Unit (IMCU)
provide comprehensive care to all critically ill neonates and normal newborns and committed to support and to promote breastfeeding to ensure that the mothers and the babies are given the best possible quality health care.
The unit is staffed with competent and committed staff who manifest compassion, patience, understanding, honesty and humility under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and through the intercession of Mary our mother.
The NICU/IMCU offers the following:
1. Competent and committed staff
• Consultants: Board certified neonatologist and subspecialty consultants
• Pedia Residents
• Nurses
• Midwife
2. Different functional areas:
• Hand-washing area
• Resuscitation/Admitting area
• Observation area (hold-over area/ transitional area)
• Intermediate and Special care room
• Continuing care/ Step down room
• Intensive care room
• Isolation room
• Breastfeeding room
• Storage room |
