EMERGENCY ROOM /OUT PATIENT SERVICES
The hospital emergency service offers great opportunities and challenges to its
staff. It is often referred to as “show window” of the hospital, since first impressions
are built on the hospital’s technical and professional capabilities and could provide
sources of pride and honor to the hospital. Public awareness and confidence in hospital
as the best place to obtain “round the clock care” of unexpected illnesses and emergency
care can explain the growing number of patients that visit the Emergency Room. For
these reasons this unit should be manned by trained and competent staff and should
know how to work as a Team. It is a place situated in a strategic place of the hospital
which is easily accessible to emergencies.
The Complex is made up of the:
is the critical area in the hospital. It is OPEN 24 hours a day.
It is divided into (4) Major Departments: Medicine, OB-GYNE, Surgery & Pediatrics.
One resident from each department goes 24 hours duty.
is the area where consultations for non-emergency cases are
seen examined & managed. It is held from 100:00 A.M.. to 5:00 P.M., Mondays
— Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays & Holidays.
Residents from each department are open for consultation for:
— follow up, issuance of medical certificate, pre-employment medical check-up
& non-emergency cases.
— minor procedures, change of dressing, change & removal of catheters.
— Pap smears, vaginal & colposcopy examinations, pre & post natal
check up. More serious OPS’s are brought to the ER complex.
— form ages 0— 18 years and 364 days are seen in the ER — PEDIA.
which is located opposite the Emergency room .It provides a short stay
for patients who need observation, treatment and monitoring while waiting for transfer
to their assigned room or prior to their discharged.
